Up Close Virtual Session: Science & Engineering

The Yale Office of Undergraduate Admissions invites you to participate in a special Up Close Virtual Session on Science and Engineering. At Yale, world-class research and exceptional undergraduate teaching come together to create extraordinary opportunities and campus and beyond. 

This special session will feature a panel of Yale faculty and staff who are not only leaders in their fields, but also dedicated to working with and teaching undergraduates. These panelists will speak about their experience working with undergraduate scientists and engineers and the extensive opportunities for research at Yale.

  • Jeff Brock:  Dean of the School of Engineering & Applied Science and Zhao and Ji Professor of Mathematics
  • Marla Geha: Professor of Astronomy and Professor of Physics, Director of Undergraduate Studies, Yale Department of Astronomy 
  • Reed Srere: Senior Assistant Director of Admissions
  • Current undergraduate science and engineering majors. 


What to know about this special session:

  • As a participant, you will not share your video or audio.
  • After registering, you will be invited to submit 1-2 questions in advance. Presenters will use the advance questions to guide the panel conversations.
  • Participants will be able to submit questions via live Q&A to the student panelists during the session.  
  • Registrants will receive a confirmation email with a link to the session and instructions on how to use the tele-conferencing platform Zoom.
